Ross Lovegrove is a Welsh design visionary currently practicing in London. He graduated from Manchester Polytechnic with a BA Hons Industrial design in 1980, thereafter acquiring his Master of Design from the Royal College of Art in London.
Lovegrove’s work is inspired by the natural world and aims to merge the ideas of shape, technology and design to produce pieces that have innovative vitality. His contemporary furniture designs portray an illusion of motion and fluidity, as seen in the Biophilia collection by Vondom and the New Wave planters by Serralunga. He maintains this distinctive style throughout his work as an industrial designer, which has won him numerous international awards. His work is currently held in permanent collections of various design museums around the world, including Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum in London.
