Philippe Bestenheirder was born in 1971 in Sion, Switzerland. He graduated from Zurich Polytechnic in Architecture and has worked for design studios in Switzerland and the United States. In 2002, he graduated from the Milan Domus Academy with a Master in Industrial Design. In 2001 until 2006, Phillippe Bestenheider was the senior designer at Patricia Urquiola’s Milan studio, where he has worked with brands such as Agape, Moroso, Molteni and more. Bestenheirder opened his own studio in 2007, where he works between Switzerland and Milan, collaborating with brands such as Pallucco, the Nilufar Gallery and Varaschin. Bestenheirder’s collection with Varaschin features outdoor furniture that includes armchairs and sofas. With the use of hand-woven multi-coloured strips to add colour and detail to outdoor furniture.
