Javier Mariscal is a Spanish artist and interior designer residing in Barcelona. Mariscal studied Philosophy in Valencia until 1970, thereafter deciding to move to Barcelona and pursue his creative passion in the world of art through the Estudio Mariscal that he founded in 1989.His design style is inspired by his deeply curious nature and his passion for innovating everyday life into something that is easier, friendlier and more interesting. A strong Mediterranean culture of warm, vibrant colours and fluent design can be seen in his contemporary furniture collections Sabinas and Moma for Vondom. One of the many design nominations and awards he has received includes the National Design Prize of the Spanish Department of Industry in 1999.
