Eero Aarnio

Eero Aarnio stands as a pioneer of contemporary interior design through his innovative pieces designed from plastic and fibre glass, as represented by Vondom and Serralunga. Finnish by birth, he studied at the School of Applied Arts in Helsinki and started his own design studio in 1962.

Aarnio’s style is playful, modern and highly distinctive, with his iconic furniture pieces such as the Bubble Chair characterising the modern era of 1960 pop culture. In addition to winning numerous international awards for design, such as the American Industrial Design award in 1968, his pieces can be found in prestigious museums such as the MoMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
